What We’re Listening To: First They Took the Gas Leaf Blowers, Now They’re After Your Lawns (Well, Not Exactly)

If you follow sustainability issues in town, or if you are just tired of hearing the roar and smelling the fumes of gas-powered leaf blowers, then you are probably familiar with the work of Sustainability Princeton and its new executive director, Christine Symington.

Symington was one of the point people as Sustainable Princeton educated the public and the landscaping industry (using bilingual presentations) about the deleterious effects of gas leaf blowers and then helped write an ordinance that limits their use to two seasons per year, fall and spring. Reading between the lines, you can guess that gas powered tools eventually will be banned entirely in favor of electric models.
