#GivingTuesday, a global day of giving fueled by the power of digital communication, (that’s low emission communication!). We are asking you to consider a donation to Sustainable Princeton.
From the powerful hurricanes hitting our coasts to the horrendous devastation of California’s wildfires, the impacts of our changing climate this year have shown their force. Locally, we have taken a leading role to promote climate action. We made substantial progress in 2018 on the development of Princeton’s Climate Action Plan, a strategic plan to reduce emissions and make our town more resilient to climate change, but there is still much to be done.
Our small staff team have boots-on-the-ground daily, working within the community to reduce Princeton’s impact. This year we participated in 89 events, engaging 2,700 community members on incorporating sustainable practices into their daily lives. A total of 7,200 kg CO2e emissions were prevented or captured through our partnership efforts of maintaining a public electric vehicle charging station, tree planting, LED bulb installation, and home energy audits. Our resource recovery efforts diverted from the landfill an outstanding 1,800 cubic feet of Styrofoam and 21,300 pounds of other resources (batteries, food scraps, pens, plastics)!
Sustainable Princeton is one of the few organizations in Princeton where a gift of ANY amount makes a difference and we only ask one time a year. Your donation of $10/month would mean so much.
Thank you for considering Sustainable Princeton in your year-end giving.
Sincerely,
Molly Jones
