On Thursday, September 23, in coordination with the Sukkah Village week-long celebration, we hosted an informative and inspiring online seminar on sustainable design, renovation, and new construction.
Our esteemed panel for this event included three respected architects, designers, and builders:
Armin Zomorodi is a designer and co-founder of Material Design Build. Armin will give an overview of a select project, highlighting the design choices and construction methods that make a “high performance” building, and how homeowners can achieve these results in renovations and new construction.
Gwen Kränzle Stia, LEED AP BD+C, a Senior Design Coordinator at HDR, will provide a brief overview of the LEED process, highlighting a local large building project which recently achieved LEED Silver certification. She will also point out some of the sustainability measures that were implemented and how they could be applied to your home.
Nathalie Beauvais, Int’l. Assoc. AIA, APA, LEED AP, a Community Planning Resiliency Lead at HDR, will give an overview of community-scale climate change vulnerability assessments and what they mean to the average citizen. She will also address how communities can collectively respond to address resiliency in their designs.
